Caltans Update:
02/07/2024 - Caltrans presented their Pearblossom Drainage Modification Project Townhall. The Caltrans Presentation can be found here --->

02/20/2020: The PRTC requested a written response from Caltrans to reflect the of commitment to rectifying the safety concerns raised regarding Highway 138 through town. A copy of the request may be found here --->
03/18/2020: The written response from Caltrans was received. The PRTC will review and provide any additional clarifications and/or additional elements requiring a response. Any and all information will be added here as we receive it. A copy of the response may be found here --->

Construction and Safety:
In late October, 2019 the PRTC met with the local, District 7 Caltrans Project/Construction Crew to discuss safety concerns from the V-ditches, driveway size and design, fire hydrants, etc.
November 15, 2019: At the invitation by the PRTC, Assemblyman Tom Lackey, State Senator Scott Wilk, Charles Bostwick from Supervisor Bargers office, and County Station 79 Fire Department for a walk-through of the newly, "completed" construction of Highway 138 to discuss the multiple safety concerns, incomplete work, and the overall nonsensical design. Following the walk-through, Senator Scott Wilk and Assemblyman Tom Lackey’s office contacted Caltrans leadership and set up a meeting for December 23, 2019.
December 23, 2019: Meeting with Assemblyman Tom Lackey, State Senator Scott Wilk, PRTC members, and Caltrans Leadership where Caltrans Leadership stated they were committed to a short term fix and a long term solution.
December 28, 2019: Caltrans leadership and the District 7 138 Project Crew did a walk-through to develop these plans. It was relayed to the PRTC new speed limit signs and road markers will be installed in February, 2020. Additionally a traffic light study will began some time February, 2020.
January 8, 2020: A copy of a report was sent to Caltrans which addresses many of the concerns of Highway 138. View Report --->

Traffic signal(s) on Highway 138 through Pearblossom - Feedback Needed: ​If you think that one or more traffic signals would be beneficial to the local traffic patterns, such as making safer left hand turns onto and off of the highway, making it safer for both children and adults cross the road, and reducing speeds through town, we would like to hear from you. Antelope Valley Community Air Monitoring Program
Not long after the PRTC formed, the PRTC began collaboration with other Town Councils, through the Association of Rural Town Councils (ARTC), in the Antelope Valley Community Air Monitoring Program. For more information, please visit here

The PRTC sponsored another community clean-up focusing on the dirt section of Avenue W between 121st Street and 126th street on November 19, 2022 through November 20, 2022. This clean-up filled four (4) forty yard dumpsters due to the illegal dumping in this area.
​A huge thank you to everyone who came out! This area has been a hot spot and will now be monitored on a regular basis for new dumping and picked up promptly.
When we come together we are helping to make our community a better place!

The PRTC sponsored another community clean-up on V-10 between 123rd Street and 126th street on April 23, 2022 through April 24, 2022. This clean-up collected approximately one hundred (100) yards of debris from two lots.
​A huge thank you to everyone who came out, including SALVA for their assistance with several of their members participating. An additional thank you to Waste Management for their donation of the four (4), 40 yard dumpsters, it would not have been possible without them.
When we come together we are helping to make our community a better place!

Free, drive-thru dump days coming as listed below for household and/or yard clean-ups!

Great day cleaning up our town!!!!! Thanks to all that helped!!! Three (3) 40 yard dumpsters of less trash in the desert. If we want our town clean and nice, we are going to have to get down and dirty a little bit, today was a great start.
